Vienna Airport Bus
With the CAT airport bus every 12 minutes from Wien Mitte to the airport
From September 2026 until the end of October 2027, the section between Wien Mitte and Rennweg will be renovated and closed to all rail traffic. During this period, the City Airport Train will still operate – as an airport bus.
Between Wien Mitte and Vienna Airport, the CAT will run with premium coaches, more frequently than the train did before: up to five departures per hour in each direction.
Setra coaches operated by Blaguss Reisen will be used. Each bus offers 55 seats with extra legroom, air conditioning and on-board infotainment – the comfort you are used to from the CAT, only on the road instead of on the rails.

3 reasons to take the CAT airport bus between the city centre and Vienna Airport
Most frequent airport bus service: every 12 minutes
Between 7 am and 7 pm, a CAT airport bus takes you from Wien Mitte to Vienna Airport every 12 minutes – up to five departures per hour; during off-peak times, buses run every 15 minutes. There is no need to study a timetable: simply come to the stop and the next bus is usually already on its way.
Only €7 with KlimaTicket, Wiener Linien annual pass & Vorteilscard
If you have a KlimaTicket, a Wiener Linien annual pass, an ÖBB Vorteilscard or another one of our partner cards, you can travel for just €7 per direction – €12 return. This makes the CAT airport bus the most affordable direct connection to Wien Mitte for anyone who already has one of these cards.
Children up to 15 travel free on CAT airport buses
Children and young people up to the age of 15 travel free on the CAT airport bus – no age tiers, no fine print. For families, that makes a noticeable difference and helps make the journey to the airport easy to plan and affordable.

City Check-In Bus
Please note: CAT City Check-In is not available during the main line closure for logistical reasons. Your luggage travels with you in the coach luggage compartment, where sufficient space is available – including for bulky items such as skis or pushchairs. Check-in is then completed as usual at Vienna Airport.
