Passenger tariffs issued by City Air Terminal Betriebsges.m.b.H. (CAT)
Tariff Regulations & Conditions of Transportation
1.1 The carriage of persons in trains operated by City Air Terminal Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. (hereafter “CAT”) between Wien Mitte and Vienna International Airport railway stations (hereafter “City Airport Train”) is subject to the Tariff Regulations and Terms and Conditions of Carriage for CAT-operated trains, supplemented by the Austrian Railway Tariffs for the Transportation of Persons and Baggage ("Österreichische Eisenbahn-Personen- und Reisegepäcktarif" (OEPT)).
1.2. The carriage of persons by CAT-CAB is governed by the CAT-CAB Tariff Regulations and Terms and Conditions of Carriage
2.1. Only CAT tickets shall be valid for travel on CAT trains.
2.2. Tickets issued by other operators, transport companies, or transport associations will not be accepted.
2.3. Tickets for the carriage of persons in CAT trains may be purchased from specially designated ticket machines, on the internet (www.cityairporttrain.com), at selected travel agencies and railway stations throughout Austria, or directly on the train.
Ticket prices differ depending on sales channel and are set out below:

CAT tickets may be purchased up to three months in advance of the date of travel. The period of validity of tickets is dependent on the ticket category and the method of purchase, and is also displayed on the ticket.
Single tickets purchased at the ticket machines are valid for 24 hours; return tickets are valid for 30 days; 10-trip tickets are valid for 12 months, starting in each case from the date of issue.
Tickets purchased on the internet shall be valid on the date displayed on the printed ticket (and for return tickets, on the date of the return journey), as well as one day before and one day after the printed date.
Tickets purchased on the train are valid only on the date of purchase and for that journey.
No reimbursement of the ticket price is possible.
The purchase of a CAT ticket entitles the ticket holder to check in luggage at the City Check-In at Wien Mitte station. Unless the terms and conditions of the relevant airline otherwise provide, the City Check-In may be used at the earliest 24 hours and at the latest 75 minutes before the flight departure time. Check-in on the preceding day is only possible after 6 p.m. on the evening before the flight departure.
Travel baggage
Baggage checked at the City Air Terminal at Wien Mitte station as flight baggage shall not be considered to be travel baggage in the sense of the ÖPT, and the terms and conditions of the ÖPT shall not apply to such baggage.
Following check-in, baggage shall become the responsibility of the airline responsible for carriage of the passenger from Vienna International Airport to the next destination. CAT undertakes carriage of the baggage between Wien Mitte station and Vienna International Airport in the name and at the risk of the airline.
CAT excludes all liability to passengers for baggage checked in at the City Air Terminal at Wien Mitte station. Any and all claims shall be the sole responsibility of the transporting airline.
Hand luggage
The general terms and conditions of the ÖPT shall apply to the carriage of hand baggage.
The carriage of bicycles and other large pieces of sporting equipment (e.g., skis, surfboards, etc.), as well as bulky, oversized items is permitted subject to the availability of capacity on the train. In case of doubt, train attendants shall determine whether the carriage of a particular item of baggage is permitted or not. Train attendants are entitled to refuse carriage of such pieces of sporting equipment and bulky, oversized items in the absence of available capacity. Passengers are responsible for ensuring that carriage of their baggage neither endangers the safety of the train or of other passengers, nor injures other passengers, nor damages items (e.g., other hand luggage) or the furnishings and equipment of the train. The carriage of bicycles, other large pieces of sporting equipment (e.g., skis, surfboards, etc.), and bulky, oversized items is free of charge.
Carriage of animals
The general terms and conditions of the ÖPT shall apply to the carriage of animals. Dogs must be muzzled and kept on a leash during carriage.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the ÖPT, the Lost & Found Counter at Vienna International Airport
In the event of passengers’ fouling CAT facilities, furnishings or equipment, CAT reserves the right to charge those responsible a cleaning fee of EUR 60.
In the event of damage to or misappropriation of CAT facilities, furnishings or equipment, those responsible shall be charged for the costs incurred.
Should one or more of the provisions of these Tariff Regulations and Terms and Conditions of Carriage be or subsequently become wholly or partly invalid, then this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The invalid provisions shall be replaced by such valid provisions as most nearly reflect the commercial intent of the original provisions. The same shall apply with respect to any omissions.
These Tariff Regulations and Terms and Conditions of Carriage shall be governed by Austrian law. Any disputes arising from or related to these Tariff Regulations and Terms and Conditions of Carriage, including disputes as to their validity, shall come under the sole jurisdiction of the competent court in Vienna, to the extent that this is permissible by law.
